Adventure is what I've enjoyed since 1970. I enjoyed taking my children backpacking and mountain climbing in Colorado as they grew up, then after they grew older, I ventured further away and higher. I guided groups up Aconcagua (in Argentina), and up Kilimanjaro (in Africa). Earlier climbs included the Matterhorn (Switzerland), Mont Blanc (France) along with other European and South American climbs. In 2001 I summited Cho Oyu (Tibet) which is one of the fourteen 8,000 meter peaks in the world, and I was on the 2002 American Women's Expedition to Everest when I made it to the South Summit. Currently, closer to home, I've climbed all the mountains over 13,000 ft in Colorado (there are 637. That was a 20 year project. I've also summited every state high point. More recently I've enjoyed through hiking the Colorado trail, and walking across Spain.
I also enjoy sailing and the exploring that goes along with long distance sailing. I crewed a 49 foot ketch from Western to Eastern Panama and line-handled a 52 foot sloop through the Panama canal last year. This spring my husband Mark and I crewed a 53 foot ketch from Costa Rica to Mexico (a 6 week trip complete with gale force winds).
My interest centers around exploring, and whether mountaineering, traveling to different countries and continents, and even including inner exploring through meditation and reading, life has been exciting, and continues to be so.
